How Proptech Hungary Conference helps offices meet the ESG targets?
Proptech Hungary Conference organized a panel discussion on how proptech can help offices meet ESG (environment, social, and governance) targets. The discussion involved Gábor Szarvas (Co-founder Greenbors,) Ida Kiss (Head of Design, DVM Group), Mátyás Gereben (CEO, CPI), and Réka Nagy (Head of Strategy at Invensol)
- responsible energy consumption,
- energy efficiency improvements,
- switching to renewable energy sources
- actively promoting sustainable mobility options (access to public transport, shared modes of transportation, cycling, etc.)
- improvement of employee well-being,
- investments in green buildings,
- proper waste management.
In order for businesses to comply with the net zero energy building regulations, companies need to be evaluated based on objective parameters. Proptech Hungary Conference solutions’ aim is to provide these data for the users in each phase of the office building: planning, construction, operation, and maintenance.

Ida Kiss (DVM Group) emphasized the importance of incorporating sustainability principles during the planning stage to maintain an office building in a sustainable way. Companies are also interested in getting access to reports of the operation in order to provide feedback and compare the differences between the plan and the completed building. While there are integrated tools available on the market, they are not yet widely adopted.
The Proptech Hungary Conference participants also discussed how the tenants relate to the ESG guidelines. Réka Nagy confirmed that the tenant requirements for office usage have changed significantly. Tenants have questions such as:
- whether they need to maintain their current-sized office?
- if so, how to manage it sustainably?
- is the current office operated efficiently?
- how to provide an attractive workplace environment to improve employee engagement?
At Invensol we provide guidance on the complete workplace management process through integrated software and hardware solutions. With our SAM software, companies can have a complete control of their office space and manage their corporate assets easily. Réka also highlighted the HR-related perspective of proptech as a digital ecosystem has become absolutely required by the employees. A modern, innovative workplace also provides space for collaboration and supports cohesion among co-workers. These factors significantly contribute to employee well-being.
Mátyás Gereben (CPI) mentioned the importance of tenant education stating that a sustainable office building cannot be achieved without environmentally responsible tenants. Landlords and the tenants shall work together to improve the environmental performance of the building. To improve the operation, measuring business processes shall be an essential element of workplace management.
